Nature of this tool

GeneKids offers three calculators for informational, educational, and family entertainment purposes: a statistical height and percentile predictor, a simplified eye and hair color probability model (the "genetic lottery"), and a calculator of biologically possible blood type combinations. None of the results constitute a medical diagnosis, a clinical genetic analysis, or a paternity test.

Limitations of these calculations

• Height and percentiles: an estimate based on simplified reference tables and parents' height (and optionally grandparents'). Actual final height also depends on nutrition, health, environment, and puberty.
• Genetic lottery: a simplified, popular-science model. Eye and hair color depend on multiple genes (polygenic inheritance); the probabilities shown are approximations, not certainties.
• Blood ties: based on the inheritance rules of the ABO system and Rh factor. It can, in specific cases, make a combination biologically impossible — but it can never confirm a paternity. The only conclusive paternity test is a DNA test performed by a certified laboratory.

All calculators and the "Complete Genetic Report" PDF are completely free. No amount is charged to generate, download, or re-download results, and no payment details are requested at any point.

The site is supported by advertising and voluntary donations through Ko-fi. Donations are entirely voluntary and grant no additional access, features, or content — those who donate and those who don't receive exactly the same.
